Short version: the tools are free, there is no account, we make no promises about results, and we never receive your files. Using the site means accepting the terms below.
What this service is
pdftools-online.com provides browser-based PDF utilities. All processing happens locally in your browser; we operate no server that receives, stores or processes your documents. There is no account system and no fee.
Acceptable use
Use these tools only on files you own or are otherwise entitled to modify. The Unlock PDF tool in particular removes restrictions that a document's author applied deliberately — removing them from material you have no right to access may be unlawful in your jurisdiction, and doing so is your responsibility, not ours.
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, or to redistribute it as your own service.
No warranty
The tools are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. PDF is a complex format and some documents will not process correctly. Compression at medium or high settings deliberately rasterizes pages, which discards the text layer; the interface warns you before this happens.
Keep your original files. Because everything runs in your browser and nothing is stored, a failed or unsatisfactory conversion cannot be recovered by us — we have no copy of anything.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site, including loss of data or corrupted output. Your sole remedy is to stop using the site.
Advertising
The site is funded by Google AdSense. Ads load only after you accept them in the consent banner; declining costs you nothing and disables no tool. See the privacy policy for detail.
Changes
These terms may change. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
